Because of the demand for organic products, companies are sprouting all over, saying that what they produce are organic--even though they are not.
Naturally, we need some assurance with these products. Standards have to be imposed to assure that what's "organic" is really organic. This is where programs like the National Organic Program of the Agricultural Marketing Service come in.
