A new federal legislation that has already been passed this year, will offer farmers $20,000 annually to support the cost of converting their respective farms into organic agriculture.The law also allocated budget to offset certification costs in such farm conversion and for organic research and facilities. This provisions makes this new legislation the most "organic friendly farm bill" since 1990 version. It is also required the Department of Agriculture to establish a program for such standardization and certification of organic products.
